Christmas Lights Switch On
Kicking off the Christmas season in style with a fantastic assortment of community entertainment from 1pm to 7pm on Saturday 3rd December 2016,with the the light switch on at 6pm.
A highlight of the Christmas Weekend for many children (and adults too!) is the Reindeer Parade. Santa brings a team of his Reindeer to bring him along King Street and into Canute Place before Santa says hello to his fans!
The Reindeer Parade takes place at 5pm on Saturday 3rd December.
The two-day festive street market will line Princess Street on Saturday 3rd (12-7pm) and Sunday 4th December (11-5pm) showcasing a vast array of local crafts, food and drink. With gift ideas galore, plenty to treat yourself too, and of course our fantastic high-street retailers this is the perfect weekend to kick-start your Christmas Shopping.
The Market will feature over 100 traders each day, a funfair, inflatable snow globe, live entertainment and plenty of festive feeling!
The 2016 Lantern Parade will be held on Saturday 10th December. Setting off at 5pm from St Cross Church and parading through the town centre led by exciting feature lanterns, which will bring a real wow factor!
Let your imagination run wild to create your own lantern design, use the Council template, bring along a ready made lantern or come along to a FREE Lantern Making workshop to join in the fun and help light up the Knutsford night sky.
The Lantern Workshops take place on Saturday 26th November at the Town Council offices. The first session takes place from 10am to 12.30pm and the second session from 1.30pm to 4pm. For more information on the Lantern Parade workshops and to book your place email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Christmas Crib is blessed and a selection of Carols sang as part of the Crib Service on Saturday 10th December at 5.45pm, immediately following the Lantern Parade. Lead by the local churches with an introduction from the Mayor.
Community Christmas Tree Festival
Organised by St Cross Church the Christmas Tree Festival is held every two years and brings together a host of local businesses, schools, sports clubs, the police, the library and of course the Town Council under one roof with their uniquely decorated Christmas Trees representing their organisation.
There has been shuttlecock choristers from the badminton club, a pink tree from the police, Father Christmas skeletons from the physios, a tree wrapped in bandages from First Responders, a Lego street scene featuring the Belle Epoque and many more ingenious creations!
The event raises money for local charities and in 2014 raised money for the Knutsford Community First Responders.
In 2016 St Cross Church will be opened for the festival from:

* Sunday 11th December 11.30 am to 5 pm
