Knutsford Christmas Weekend

Knutsford is the place to be at Christmas time! There is a whole host of festive events that take place in Knutsford during the Christmas period starting with the Christmas Light Switch On, followed by our two day Christmas Market and later the community crib service!

SANTA PARADE

Saturday 15th November

A highlight of the Christmas Light Switch On for many children (and adults too!) is the seeing Santa arrive and come through the Town on his sleigh before heading into Canute Place to say hello to his fans!

The Santa parade will form outside The Lost & Found at 6pm, heading down Princess Street towards Canute Place for the Light Switch On at 6.30pm.

LIGHTS SWITCH ON

Saturday 15th November

Watch as the Mayor of Knutsford is joined by Santa and special guests to light up Knutsford for the festive season! The switch on is preceded by an afternoon of live entertainment from local musicians, dance troupes, performers and choirs.

Entertainment will commence at 4pm in Canute Place with the light switch on taking place at 6.30pm

CHRISTMAS MARKET

Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th November 2025

Knutsford Christmas Market is the staple event of the festive programme in Knutsford, bringing over 120 of the area’s finest traders together, offering a selection of artisan food, drink, art, crafts and special gifts! The market also features Santa’s Grotto, live entertainment, a funfair and plenty of festive feeling!

CRIB SERVICE

6th December 3:30pm – 4:30pm

The town’s Christmas Crib is blessed, and a selection of Carols are sang as part of the Crib Service. The Crib Service is held by the town Crib which is located on Princess Street opposite the Lost and Found.

The Mayor of Knutsford, Cllr Bryan Hartley is inviting Knutsford families to join him outside the Lost and Found* on Saturday 6th December, for the annual community crib service.

The service, which is led by Mayor’s Chaplain Father David Long, starts at 15:30 and includes a festive Christmas message from the mayor who has chosen some of his favourite carols for the event. The carols will be led by children from St Vincents school Choir and the City of Chester Brass Band.

Complimentary mulled wine, mince pies and soft drinks will be served by the Knutsford Catenians.

*In the case of adverse weather conditions, the event will be moved inside the Knutsford Methodist Church.
