The Town Ranger service was introduced in 2015 to tackle all the odd jobs that you often pass and think – ‘why does somebody not sort this’. Our Town Ranger, Bob, is Knutsford’s own super hero tackling a wide range of responsive maintenance tasks across the whole town.

You’ll see Bob about town in his distinctive town council van – he’s equipped with  a range of tools and equipment to help him efficiently undertake a wide range of tasks.

Here’s some of what Bob does – if you’ve spotted something that needs Bob’s attention, let us know:

  • Cleans road signs and bus shelters
  • Looks after town benches
  • Litter picking
  • Trims overgrown hedges
  • Cuts back overgrown paths
  • Removes flyposting and graffiti
  • Installs the Speed Indicator Device (SID)
  • Maintains some town centre planters
  • Looks after the Obelisk and Wallwood
  • Cleans the Tower Gate footpath
  • Keeps ginnels / footpaths clear
  • Weeding
