P23/031 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to confirm the minutes of the meeting held on the 11th September.

 

P23/032  REVIEW OF YEAR TO DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The year-to-date income and expenditure was noted and the Town Clerk explained the overspend on clothing/PPE and advised the council had received a £500 referral fee payment from Peninsula.

 

P23/033 STAFF REPRESENTATIVE

The staff representative was unable to attend the meeting.

 

P23/034 APPRAISAL PROCEDURES

It was RESOLVED to approve the addition of revised appraisal guidance into the staff handbook and that the effectiveness of the procedures be reviewed in 12 months.

 

P23/035 DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING

It was noted that the next scheduled meeting would be held on 18th March 2024 at 7:30pm.

 

P23/036 STAFF MORALE/WELFARE SURVEY

It was RESOLVED to exclude the public and press on the grounds that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

The committee discussed the output of the survey. In respect of a suggested policy on the buying/selling of annual leave, it was noted the committee would consider a draft policy at its next meeting. The committee noted the workload issues reported for some staff and requested the Town Clerk report on its resolution at the next meeting.

The committee expressed thanks to staff for their patience with the central heating repair at the council offices.

 

P23/037  MEMBER REVIEW SURVEY

The committee discussed the output of the survey, suggesting a second (social) WhatsApp group be set up for members who wished to utilise it.

 

P23/038  MARKET HALL REFURBISHMENT PROJECT

The Town Clerk reported on proposed arrangements with respect management of the project. It was noted that in the absence of additional resource, the patience of committees in seeing pauses/delays to non-urgent work was required.

 

P23/039 STAFFING OVERVIEW REPORT

The report was noted.

 

P23/040  PERSONNEL MATTERS

The Town Clerk responded to a question with respect an aspect of an officer’s work.
