The terms of reference were noted.

 

T25/006 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to confirm the minutes of the meeting held 24th March.

 

T25/007 REVIEW OF YEAR-TO-DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The year-to-date income and expenditure reports were noted and the Town Clerk took questions from members on spending to date.

 

T25/008 TOWN CENTRE MANAGEMENT REPORT

The report was noted. There was positive feedback on the Flash Fashion event and the layout of the market hall and footfall data was discussed.

 

T25/009 BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

The report was noted and it was noted that the Town Centre Manager was seeking to engage some of the larger businesses and business-to-business businesses with the steering group.

 

T25/010 GINNEL LIGHTING / NAMING

The report on initial ideas for improvements to the ginnels was noted. It was agreed that signage needs to be clear and stand out and it was suggested that any names should have a historic context and that a public vote on a shortlist should be considered.

 

T25/011 COMMITTEE WORKING GROUPS

It was RESOLVED to appoint:

  • Cllrs Coan, Gray, Hartley, Johnson and Robertson to the Town Centre Masterplan working group
  • Cllrs Coan, Johnson, Russell and Wood to the Ginnels working group
  • Cllrs Hartley, Johnson and Russell to the Tourism Strategy working group

 

T25/012 OUTSTANDING MATTERS LOG

The log was noted.

 

T25/013 QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk responded to a question advising that the tendering was ongoing for the Market Hall roof works and that there was a significant waiting list for allotments.

 

T25/014 DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING

It was noted that the next scheduled meeting will be held on 21st July 2025 at 7:00pm.
