PL24/092 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

A resident on Green Acre Close spoke in relation to application 24/3555M which was considered at the previous meeting, stating they believed the application was excessive by virtue of scale and massing, constitutes overdevelopment and is detrimental to the residential amenity of the Legh Road Conservation Area and that it would result in a loss of light and privacy to their property.

A resident, who is a member of the Forum of British Pubs, spoke in relation to the loss of the Freemasons Arms as a pub due to the separation of the accommodation from the ground floor bar area querying why the change of use application was not considered holistically as a loss of a pub. He reported there are three remaining pubs which are owned by the big-six pub companies under traditional tenancies (the Old Sessions House, the Lord Eldon and the White Bear) asking the council to submit applications to have these registered as Assets of Community Value.
