E25/016 ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN

In the absence of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman, it was RESOLVED that Cllr Woods preside.

 

E25/017 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Apologies were received from Cllrs Banks, Coan, Forrest and Russell (personal business)

 

E25/018 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS

No member declared an interest in any item under discussion.

 

E25/019 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

No members of the public wished to address the committee.

 

E25/020 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the meeting held on 7th July, subject to a typographical correction to E25/013.

 

E25/021 REVIEW OF YEAR TO DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The committee income and expenditure year-to-date was noted.

 

E25/022 RECENT AND UPCOMING EVENTS

A report on recent and upcoming events was noted. It was agreed that where practicable event names should include ‘Knutsford’ in the title.

 

E25/023 CIVIC SUNDAY

It was noted that attendance at the parade and church service had been low, both from the public and members. The purpose and objectives of Civic Sunday was discussed and it was agreed that the general objective should be to recognise the work of people and organisations in the community. Consensus was reached on a Civic Sunday comprising a hosted reception in the Market Hall. It was agreed that the parade be discontinued but that the Town Mayor should continue to have the option of hosting a civic church service too.

 

E25/024 EVENTS PROGRAMME 2026/27

The committee thanked the events team for preparing the proposed programme.

It was RESOLVED:

  1. to approve the programme as outlined
  2. that a ‘Festival of Sport’ event be explored for 2027

 

E25/025 STRATEGIC PLAN

It was RESOLVED to approve the following action plan for 2026/27:

  • Deliver the council’s community events programme
  • Deliver a successful programme of activity for Heritage Open Days
  • Investigate options for a Festival of Sport in 2027

 

E25/026 COMMITTEE BUDGET 2026/27

It was RESOLVED to approve the draft budget.

 

E25/027 OUTSTANDING ACTIONS AND PROJECT UPDATES REPORT

The report was noted.

 

E25/028 COMMITTEE WORKPLAN

The workplan was noted.

 

E25/029 QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk undertook to update a page on the website which referred to the Christmas events.

 

E25/030  DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING

It was noted that the next scheduled meeting would be held on 5th January 2026 at 7:30pm.
