E21/020 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to confirm the minutes of the meeting held 13th September.

 

E21/021 REVIEW OF YEAR TO DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The income and expenditure year to date was noted.

 

E21/022 TOWN CENTRE MANAGEMENT REPORT

The report was noted. It was suggested that improved measures be implemented to promote the free parking days to ensure users did not pay for parking when it is free.

 

E21/023 ALFRESCO DINING EVENINGS 2022

It was RESOLVED to approve the principle of alfresco dining evenings in 2022 subject to the committee considering further detail following further engagement with hospitality businesses on the policing, timing, and frequency of the evenings. In particular it was requested that views on preferred months and the day it takes place alternating between streets be gathered.

 

E21/024 PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

It was RESOLVED to participate in the national beacon lighting evening with a brazier beacon lighting as outlined but with the ATC band instead of a piper.

It was RESOLVED to work with Knutsford Lions to support a Jubilee Community Fair on the Heath.

It was RESOLVED not to hold an event as part of the Big Jubilee Lunch.

It was RESOLVED to defer consideration of a public art competition to the March committee meeting to allow Cllr Malloy to discuss the idea with the Knutsford and District Youth Council.

It was RESOLVED to plant a commemorative tree at each of the town’s primary and secondary schools subject to a condition that it be retained in perpetuity.

 

E21/025 REFRESH KNUTSFORD

 It was RESOLVED to repeat the event in 2022 and that the draft budget be amended to include a £1,000 budget for the event.

 

E21/026 PUMPKIN PATH FEEDBACK

 It was agreed that the traffic management at the junction of Church Walk and King Street should be improved for 2022.

 

E21/027 MAKERS MARKET

 It was noted that the closure of Mereheath Lane for an event connected with Tatton Park had resulted in additional traffic problems at the November market.

The concerns of two hospitality businesses were raised and the Chairman undertook to meet with them to discuss in more detail. Members discussed the market and the Chairman undertook to discuss the concerns raised with the organisers.

 

E21/028 CHRISTMAS ILLUMINATION INSPECTIONS

 It was noted that the Town Clerk would prepare a rota for members to inspect the Christmas lights over the festive period to enable any faults to be promptly reported to the contractors.

 

E21/029 QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk responded to questions stating that signage would be installed on Garden Road to deter verge parking at the Christmas Market and that a park and ride service would be in place.

The committee expressed its thanks for the outstanding work of Sandra Curties, Town Centre and Marketing Officer, noting her departure from the council and sending best wishes for her future.
