E24/030 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

Apologies were received from Cllrs Forrest and Wood (personal business) and Watson (business).

 

E24/031 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS

E24/032 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

No members of the public were present.

 

E24/033 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the meeting held on 30th September 2024.

 

E24/034 REVIEW OF YEAR TO DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The committee income and expenditure year-to-date was noted.

 

E24/035 REVIEW OF RECENT EVENTS

In resect of Pumpkin Path, it was suggested more entry form post boxes could be beneficial. Reviewing Remembrance Sunday, it was agreed the parade banners should be asked to attend the church service. The size of crowds for the Santa Parade were discussed and it was noted improved safety measures should be implemented for 2025.

Reviewing the Christmas Market and Lights Switch On and feedback from local businesses and emergency services, it was RESOLVED to trial splitting the events for 2025 with the light switch on being held in mid-November and the market across both principal shopping streets. It was further RESOLVED to recommend a net increase of £1,000 to the event budgets to facilitate he changes.  

 

E24/036 KNUTSFORD TOWN CRIER

It was noted that the Town Crier had been appointed in 1995 and the committee discussed whether to utilise them at more events.

It was RESOLVED not to explore utilising the Town Crier at more events.

 

E24/037S TRATEGIC PLAN

The status of actions under the committee was noted.

 

E24/038 OUTSTANDING MATTERS LOG

It was noted that there were no outstanding actions on the log.

 

E24/039 QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk responded to questions advising that:

  • There is no specific theme for the Knutsford Music Festival and that officers were currently working on the line up
  • That there would be a launch event for the reopening of the Market Hall
  • That the 80th anniversary of VE Day takes place on 8th May and that subject to any counter proposal it was suggested to hold the same event as held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day
