No members of the public were present.

 

E24/005 COMMITTEE TERMS OF REFERENCE

The terms of reference were noted.

 

E24/006 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the meeting held on 29th April subject to the addition of Cllr Dalzell in the attendance list.

 

E24/007 REVIEW OF YEAR TO DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The committee income and expenditure year-to-date was noted.

 

E24/008 RECENT AND UPCOMING EVENTS

The Music Festival was discussed and it was noted that the Builders Arms’ events had been cancelled. It was suggested that the idea of a guitar trail, where guitarists perform at different locations across the town. It was suggested the festival should have more busker performances and that the predominance of folk performances should be reviewed in planning for 2025.

 

E24/009REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

It was RESOLVED that the parade should parade to the Centennial War Memorial for the main service and that a civic church service should be held before the parade.

It was RESOLVED to cease providing refreshments at the end of the day due to low uptake in recent years.

It was RESOLVED that the Town Mayor should lay a wreath at the Centennial Place Memorial Garden.

Cllr Coan left the meeting.

 

E24/010 RECENT AND UPCOMING EVENTS

Arrangements for the Heritage Open Days events and Picnic in the Park were noted.

It was suggested the Environment and Transport Committee should investigate installing a signpost directing to the site of St Helena’s.

 

E24/011 EVENTS PROGRAMME 2025/26

It was noted that 2025 would mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and that this should be suitably commemorated. The idea of a Knutsford Wine Festival was also suggested.

 

E24/012 STRATEGIC PLAN

The status of actions under the committee were noted.

 

E24/013 OUTSTANDING MATTERS LOG

It was noted that there were no outstanding actions on the log.

 

E24/014 QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk responded to question on the history of the lantern parade.

 

E24/015  DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING

It was noted that the next scheduled meeting would be held on 30th September 2024 at 7:30pm.
