C23/016 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

C23/017 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS
Cllr Gardiner declared a personal interest in C23/021 on the grounds of being an associate of a trustee and in C23/022 on the grounds of being a member of Friends of the Moor and a Knutsford Host.
Cllr Russell declared a personal interest in C23/022 on the grounds of being chair of Cycle Knutsford.
C23/018 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
A resident enquired as to the type of cycle rack proposed at the 1st Knutsford Scout Hut under the proposed grant, and suggested it not be the type which secures bikes by the wheel; the resident enquired when the council would install covered cycle parking at the Council Offices for visitors and staff and outlined the need for investment at Knutsford Leisure Centre but noting that the previous proposals from Everybody Sport and Leisure were not in accordance with the needs outlined in the Neighbourhood Plan consultations.
C23/019 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES
It was RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the meeting held 19th June.
C23/020 REVIEW OF YEAR TO DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE
The income and expenditure year to date was noted.
C23/021 MANCHESTER AIRPORT COMMUNITY TRUST FUND
Helen McNabb, Community Engagement Manager at Manchester Airport joined the meeting and gave a talk on the Community Trust Fund. It was noted that the airport contributes £100,000 per year to the fund and that the fund is operated by a registered charity which includes a trustee appointed from Cheshire East Council.
The committee was encouraged to promote the scheme to local organisations, noting that up to £3,000 can be applied for, that the charity will only fund tangible items and that awards are made four times per year.
C23/022 COMMUNITY GRANTS
It was RESOLVED to approve:
- a grant to the value of £940 to 1st Knutsford Scouts
- a grant to the value of £658 to Crosstown Community Orchard
- a donation of £200 to Friends of the Moor
- a donation of £130.40 to Knutsford Hosts
- a donation of £200 to Beat Productions
C23/023 CONSULTATION ON RENAMING OF LONGRIDGE
It was noted that the process for renaming the estate would not be straightforward, that the costs and funding would need to be ascertained and that the personal implications for residents of the estate would need to be thoroughly understood. It was noted that the proposed consultation would be an initial first step to ascertain if the residents of the estate wished to explore it further or not.
It was RESOLVED to undertake a consultation on renaming Longridge as outlined in report COM-23-08.
C23/024 STRATEGIC PLAN
The progress on delivering the actions under the oversight of the committee was noted.
It was suggested that noticeboards/notices be explored at supermarkets and major employers as places with naturally high footfall and that a noticeboard be considered for the Parkgate estate.
C23/025 COMMITTEE BUDGET 2024/25
It was RESOLVED to approve the draft budget as presented.
C23/026 OUTSTANDING MATTERS LOG
The log was noted.
