A24/020 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 10th June.

 

A24/021 REVIEW OF YEAR-TO-DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The year-to-date income and expenditure reports were noted and the Town Clerk explained that the high percentage expenditure for water costs at the Council Offices was due to the annual surface water/highway drainage bills.

 

A24/022 ASSET TRANSFER WORKING GROUP

It was RESOLVED to establish an asset transfer working group in accordance with the draft terms of reference.

It was RESOLVED to appoint Cllrs Banks, Coan, Hartley and Lowe to the working group.

 

A24/023 MARKET HALL REFURBISHMENT UPDATE

The Town Clerk reported that the architect had submitted the draft tender documentation that day and that it would be reviewed and issued the following day with tender returns due at the end of August. It was noted that an additional committee meeting would be convened to award the tender and that the Town Clerk would liaise with MHCLG regarding the timescales. It was further reported that work was ongoing to prepare 60 King Street for use as a temporary market.

 

A24/024 STRATEGIC PLAN

The status of actions was noted and the Town Clerk responded to questions advising that he had no reason not to expect Bruntwood to submit proposals for 60 King Street, that there had been no information from Cheshire East Council on bringing forward the travelling showperson site allocated in the local plan, that the Town Ranger apprenticeship would be readvertised in the new year to better align with potential candidates timescales and that a meeting of the Council Offices sub-committee would be convened shortly.

 

A24/025 QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk responded to questions advising that an item on repairs to the surface at the entrance to the cemetery would be on the next committee agenda, that enquires would be made with Cheshire East Council concerning the potential missing CCTV camera at the King Street car park, that investigations would be made into the ‘gadget’ installed above Babylon and that enquiries would be made with Cheshire East Council about footage of the vandalism of a local shop.

 

A24/026 OUTSTANDING MATTERS LOG

It was noted the IT working group would arrange a meeting and the issue of the proposed works at the Canute Place roundabout was raised.
