A20/050 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS

Cllr Nicholson declared a prejudicial interest in A20/056 on grounds of a family member submitting a quote for the works.

A20/052 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to confirm the minutes.

 

A20/053 REVIEW OF YEAR-TO-DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The committee income and expenditure year to date was noted.

 

A20/054 UPDATE ON THE TRANSFER OF THE COUNCIL OFFICES

The Town Clerk reported that there had been no progress since the previous meeting and that the officer dealing with the transfer at Cheshire East Council was awaiting a meeting with a colleague in the highways department and for a response from the legal department to resolve the two outstanding issues. The Town Clerk stated he would raise the issue at a meeting with Cheshire East Council’s Executive Director of Place that week.

 

A20/055 MARKET HALL CHRISTMAS LIGHTING

It was RESOLVED to upgrade the Market Hall Christmas illuminations and incorporate the proposed scheme as part of the town centre lighting contract 2021-23.

 

A20/056 MARKET HALL BIN COMPOUND

Cllr Nicholson left the meeting.

It was RESOLVED to replace the bin compound with new posts and fencing.

Cllr Nicholson re-joined the meeting.

 

A20/057 COMMITTEE PROJECTS UPDATE

The update report on the works to the cemetery chapel, public toilets and obelisk was noted.

 

A20/058 QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk responded to a question in relation to the illumination of the centennial war memorial confirming that officers were securing necessary consents.

 

A20/059 ACTIONS LOG

The log was noted.

 

A20/060 DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING

It was noted that the next scheduled meeting will be held on 14th June 2021 at 7:00pm.

 

A20/061 60 KING STREET

It was RESOLVED to exclude the public and press on the grounds that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the commercially confidential nature of the business to be transacted.

It was RESOLVED that the Town Clerk investigate the potential for a Heritage Lottery Fund grant towards refurbishment of the building for use as a hybrid community and commercial venue and report back to the committee at the next scheduled meeting or sooner.
