C25/063 DECLARATIONS OF MEMBERS’ INTERESTS

Cllrs Coan and Gardiner declared personal interests in the grant applications from Knutsford Royal British Legion, as members of the RBL, and Knutsford Library, as Cheshire East Councillors.

 

C25/064 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

A representative of Knutsford Royal British Legion spoke to outline the reason for their grant application and the new committee’s commitment to increase community engagement.

Cllr Russell joined the meeting.

 

C25/065 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the meeting held 16th February.

 

C25/066 REVIEW OF YEAR TO DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The income and expenditure at year end was noted; it was noted the committee had underspent across a number of lines and the Town Clerk outlined that this was due to the vacancy in the Community Engagement Officer role.

 

C25/067 COMMUNITY GRANT AWARDS

It was RESOLVED to:

  1. Award a grant of £450 to Knutsford Library for their summer reading challenge.
  2. Award a grant of £500 to Knutsford Runners to fund the cost of training leaders
  3. Award a grant of £750 to Knutsford Royal British Legion towards the cost of a gazebo
  4. Defer consideration of the application from Hope Central, requesting they attend the next meeting to provide an explanation as to where funds for the Christians Against Poverty subscription goes

 

C25/068 STRATEGIC PLAN

Progress against delivery of strategic plan actions was noted.

The committee discussed ReFresh and expressed that the name of the event may be confusing to people and not convey the purpose of the event.

 

C25/069 OUTSTANDING ACTIONS AND PROJECT UPDATES REPORT

The outstanding actions and project updates report was noted. Cllr Gardiner noted Disley operated a volunteer scheme at its library and encouraged re-engagement of Cheshire East Council to explore this for Knutsford.

 

C25/070 COMMITTEE WORKPLAN

The committee workplan was noted.

 

C25/071 QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk responded to a question concerning the street name plate for Gaskell Avenue advising that it appears to have been stolen and will be replaced in the next round of street name plate replacements and to a question concerning the use of QR codes on signs advising this was planned for the ‘lost streets’ plaques.
