E25/004 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

No members of the public were present.

 

E25/005 COMMITTEE TERMS OF REFERENCE

The terms of reference were noted.

 

E25/006 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES

It was RESOLVED to approve the minutes of the meeting held on 7th April.

 

E25/007 REVIEW OF YEAR TO DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE

The committee income and expenditure year-to-date was noted.

 

E25/008 RECENT AND UPCOMING EVENTS

Cllr Russell joined the meeting.

The committee noted that Bunny Hop was very well attended. Discussing the Music Festival, it was agreed that activity targeting teenagers/young adults would be desirable for 2026.

The Town Clerk reported that entries to Paint Knutsford were around 20 and that this was felt to be a good number for a first event.

 

E25/009 EVENTS PROGRAMME 2026/27

It was noted that the Events Manager would be arranging an informal workshop to discuss the draft programme ahead of the next meeting.

Ideas for exploration were a scarecrow festival, guitar trail, a bigger children’s festival, a Victorian market, a dance festival, a running event and a sports day.

 

E25/010 STRATEGIC PLAN

The committee noted the action plan. It was suggested that the recent Patton exhibition in Lower Peover could be featured in Heritage Open Days.

 

E25/011 OUTSTANDING ACTIONS AND PROJECT UPDATES REPORT

The report was noted and the Town Clerk provided further information on the rationale for seeking to build volunteer resource for events.

 

E25/012 COMMITTEE WORKPLAN

The workplan was noted.

 

E25/013 QUESTIONS TO THE TOWN CLERK

The Town Clerk responded to questions reminding the committee that the Christmas light switch on had been moved earlier to split it from the Christmas Market to manage crowds and provider a longer period of festivity, and that changes to road closure requirements meant that there had to be a qualified person on site, which was increasing costs for some events.
