On Tuesday 6th September 2016, the Tour of Britain Stage 3 comes to Knutsford TWICE! Knutsford is unique in that the tour will pass through the town twice, the second leg of which is on the way to the finish in Tatton Park.
The Tour is an internationally popular event, not only can Knutsford expect to receive between 10,000 and 15,000 visitors on the day, ITV4 will broadcast coverage of the event as it passes through the Town to 8.2 million viewers. The global audience accessing the event via Eurosport is up to 116.5 million people across 129 countries. In short this is a huge event for Knutsford and a real opportunity to put Knutsford on the map and encourage visitors both on the day and on a repeat basis.
Chairman of the Tour of Britain Sub-Committee, Cllr James Power said “This truly is an excellent opportunity for Knutsford and its businesses to shine. We can show visitors from far and wide what a great place the Town is to visit and hopefully encourage people to visit again when the Tour of Britain has moved on.”
The Town Council is holding a briefing event for Knutsford businesses at 6pm on Thursday 28th July at the Council Offices on Toft Rd. This will include a presentation on the Events taking place on the day, the opportunities available and the practicalities of the event such as race route, timings and road closures. The presentation will start at 6.15pm and there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions of Cllr James Power (Tour of Britain Sub-Committee Chairman) and Heather Clawson from Tatton Events who are organising the Cyclefest Event on the Heath. There will also be a chance for discussion with the Knutsford One retailers group about the plans for the decorated Bike Trail.

With website advert spaces from only £50 ex-VAT and Highway Banner Space sponsorship from £80 ex-VAT, the chance to put your business in front of thousands of visitors is achievable for all.”
The website advert opportunities on www.knutsfordtob.co.uk will enabling visitors to click through to your hotel, bar, restaurant, shop and make plans as to how to spend their day in advance, or see what is happening in the Town on the day and pick what to do with the 2.5 hours between the peloton visiting the Town.
Cyclefest is a free to the public pop up festival showcasing the best of Knutsford and celebrating the Tour of Britain on The Heath in the centre of the town. TEM Events and Event Buddha, who are managing the event are offering businesses the opportunity to take a stall at the event and promote their business to visitors.
