Open Space, Wallwood and Cemetery Improvements

Wallwood is looking a little smarter now with the installation of three new wooden bins which replace the grotty plastic ones. The Town Council is also looking at options for planting to encourage more wildlife and give the area a more natural feel.

In September last year the Town Council undertook an Open Spaces Survey, asking nearby residents what improvements they sought on their open spaces. The results show how valued these spaces are and this information will help inform the Neighbourhood Plan. You can view the report on our website.

The Town Council continues to have a watchful eye on Tabley Hill Cemetery where through working more closely with Cheshire East we have seen a great improvement to the standard of maintenance.

The Cemetery working group reported into the Operations Committee with its plans for improvements over the next year which includes investigating increased usage of the cemetery chapel, the re-standing of more fallen gravestones and the creation of a remembrance garden for the scattering of ashes.

Finally, you may have seen last week that the Town Council is now directing the parking wardens – if you spot a parking problem around town – let us know.

The Town Clerk’s Column is a bi-weekly blog appearing in the Knutsford Guardian.
