P23/044 CONFIRMATION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES
It was RESOLVED to confirm the minutes of the meeting held on the 11th December 2024.
P23/045 REVIEW OF YEAR TO DATE INCOME AND EXPENDITURE
The year-to-date income and expenditure was noted and it was noted the committee was forecast to be within the figures projected when the 2024/25 budget was set.
P23/046 STAFF REPRESENTATIVE
The Planning and Facilities Officer spoke outlining support for the proposed policy on buying/selling annual leave stating it increased flexibility and would contribute to long-term staff retention, and for the adoption of the dignity at work policy noting it was a policy gap.
P23/047 BUYING/SELLING ANNUAL LEAVE POLICY
It was RESOLVED to approve the policy subject to staff being provided with information on the effect of any buying/selling of annual leave on their PAYE calculations and pension.
P23/048 CCTV POLICY
It was RESOLVED to approve the policy subject to reference to the CCTV being deployed at 60 King Street whilst the market is temporarily housed there.
P23/049 DIGNITY AT WORK POLICY
It was RESOLVED to approve the policy subject to the deletion of “unwelcome” in respect of sexual advances.
P23/050 OUTSTANDING MATTERS LOG
The log was noted.
P23/051 DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING
It was noted that the next scheduled meeting would be held on 3rd June 2024 at 7:30pm
P23/052 STAFFING OVERVIEW REPORT
It was RESOLVED to exclude the public and press on the grounds that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted.
The report and planned annual leave carry over was noted.
The committee discussed the level of the Town Clerk’s untaken annual leave, noting that a greater number of flex days had been taken over the leave year. It was agreed that a peer challenge/review should be explored and that a review of the council’s staffing could then follow, particularly in the event of any change in service through transfer of assets/responsibilities from Cheshire East Council.
P23/053 PERSONNEL MATTERS
It was noted that a temporary Events Officer had been appointed to cover maternity leave and that they would start employment the following week.
