Market Hall Refurbishment and Christmas in September

Knutsford Market Hall is receiving a minor internal facelift with the entrance area being repainted to provide a more welcoming place for shoppers. The Council will also be installing some festoon lighting on the market this Christmas and we’ve set out to improve promotion of the market in neighbouring parishes to bring more shoppers. All part of our commitment to improve the assets we take on from Cheshire East Council.

The Town Ranger has continued to be busy renovating more town centre bins, refurbishing the benches on Paradise Green and generally undertaking a multitude of small tasks that help keep the town tidier. Do let me know if you spot an issue that Robin can tackle.

At our Full Council meeting on Monday 28th we have speakers from Highways England to address the Council on the M6 widening scheme and any impact it may have on Knutsford. The Council will also be considering supporting a campaign against the closure of the courts in Macclesfield.

Plans for the Christmas Events (I know, it’s still only September!) are proceeding well and we have some fantastic stalls booked in for this year’s Christmas Market and the entertainment for the Switch On is beginning to be planned with some excellent local acts performing again.

The Town Clerk’s Column is a bi-weekly blog appearing in the Knutsford Guardian.
