Christmas Lights Switch On
Kicking off the Christmas season in style with a fantastic assortment of community entertainment from 1pm to 7pm on Saturday 30th November 2019, with the the light switch on at 6pm. Join us to watch special celebrity guests Adam and Katy Rickitt switch our our Christmas Lights! Then stick around for a headline performance from Mark Radcliffe’s UNE.
A highlight of the Christmas Weekend for many children (and adults too!) is the seeing Santa arrive come through the Town on his sleigh before heading into Canute Place to say hello to his fans!
The Santa Parade takes place at 5pm on Saturday 30th November from the bottom of King Street.
The Market will feature over 120 traders each day, a Santa’s Grotto, live entertainment, a funfair and plenty of festive feeling! This year’s Market runs from 12 noon to 7pm on Saturday 30th November and 11am to 4pm on Sunday 1st December 2019.
The Lantern Parade takes a break for 2019 but will be back in December 2020.
The Christmas Crib is blessed and a selection of Carols sang as part of the Crib Service on Saturday 7th December at 4pm. The service is led by the local churches with an introduction from the Mayor. Egerton Primary School Choir and Sale Brass will be joining us. The Crib is located on Princess Street outside The Lost & Found.
