Heritage Week Open Day
19 September @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Brook Street Chapel is taking part in Heritage Open Days, England’s largest festival of history and culture. This years theme is “Edible England”.
On Sunday 19th September there are events celebrating the life and times of Elizabeth Gaskell and as she refers to bread and cheese in several of her novels we are providing a Ploughman’s lunch. There will be lots of entertainment enjoyed in the Victorian era including a Brass Band, morris Dancing, owls as well as a beer tent and cake stall.
There will be opportunities to explore the chapel and enjoy organ playing and singing songs about food. For the children there will be puppet making and also large outdoor games to play.
It is free to enter but the food costs £6 for adults and £3 for children and can be bought from the Stationery House on Princess Street.
