Cllr Peter Coan

Mayor of Knutsford 2018-19

It’s an honour and a privilege, in this, my 12th year as a town councillor to continue to champion our historic and beautiful town, in this its 726th charter year.   This is a duty I do not take lightly.

As many previous Mayors have said “Good work continues to be done on our emerging Neighbourhood Plan”, Well, I am pleased to say that hopefully it will be completed during my term of office.  We have gathered and incorporated into this document the views of Knutsford residents from all parts of our town. This plan will form the backbone of the councils 2020 vision and (if you’ll pardon the pun) we must never lose sight of our aims to achieve this.

I’m looking forward to seeing all our council’s latest initiatives come to fruition including the new centennial war memorial, the new market hall and the refurbishment of our cemetery chapel. I look forward to the new and improved community use of our council office building, the improved support to local businesses that our specialist Town Centre Manager will provide, and, of course, our fabulous music festival.

Peter is supported by his Mayoress his wife Ann Coan.  The Mayor’s Chaplain is Revd Rob Cotton from Knutsford Methodist Church.

The Deputy Mayor is Cllr Andrew Malloy.
