The Deputy Mayor is Cllr Stewart Gardiner
I have been a Knutsford Town Councillor since 2011, alongside being a Consultant Engineer in Building Services, working on multiple construction projects across the UK. I have been married to Nicole since 2003, who I met at University in Liverpool, and we have two young sons Adam (9) and Luis (6).
Prior to the Town Council, I joined the Knutsford Town Plan, (a predecessor to the Neighbourhood Plan) in 2008, chairing the Town Centre Working Group from 2012, then becoming Deputy Chair of the main Steering Group in 2013.
During my time on the Town Council, I have chaired the Events Committee for the last 4 years, working hard with others on new and existing events such as the Music Festival, Christmas Markets, Lantern Parade, and the Makers Market, while also supporting many local charities, business and events. I also led the councils Health & Social Working Group for 6 years working closely with multiple partners.
In 2014 I founded a highly successful charity Beer Festival, which across the first 5 events has raised in excess of £26k for local causes and charities.
I am a keen cyclist, and walker, my dad got me in to those activities, and I am using those skills to help raise funds for my Mayoral causes, through a 100 mile cycle ride around Cheshire East in September and a Cheshire Three Peak challenge in March next year.
I am also a keen blood donor, having made 81 donations to date, and am always encouraging others to donate.
