COLLEGE WOOD COMMUNITY MEETING

TUESDAY 20TH APRIL AT 7PM

Knutsford Town Council is hosting a community meeting using Zoom and Facebook to discuss how College Wood can be improved for the local community.

Our aim is to establish a new Friends of College Wood community group which will help drive investment into this open space.

College Wood is owned by the Shrewsbury Roman Catholic Diocese. The new Friends of College Wood would be supported by Knutsford Town Council and work with the landowner to deliver community improvements to this open space. As a community group, it will be able to apply for grants to undertake projects which make the woodland a better place for the local community.

The meeting will be chaired by Cllr Andrew Malloy, one of six Over Ward councillors on Knutsford Town Council. Andrew lives opposite College Wood and helped the council secure its registration as a town green, protecting it for the community in perpetuity.

The meeting will be an opportunity for the local community to openly discuss how the woodland could be improved. The agenda will be:

  1. A discussion on how College Wood could be improved
  2. A discussion on what the community wants to see change and what it wants to stay the same
  3. A call for volunteers to form a committee for Friends of College Wood

All residents are welcome to join the meeting and there is no obligation for you to put yourself forward for the committee.

If you have any questions about the meeting please email the Town Clerk: townclerk@knutsfordtowncouncil.gov.uk.
