Knutsford Library

Knutsford Library is located on Toft Road, next door to the Town Council Offices. The library is operated by Cheshire East Council and open Monday to Saturday with parking directly behind at Booths. As well as your traditional library services such as book loans, computer access and local history sections, the Library also hosts a number of events and activities.

Waste & Recycling

Knutsford’s waste collection is managed by Cheshire East Council which operates a three bin system; garden waste (green), recycling (silver) and general waste (black). Bin collection days are every Tuesday. You can see what goes in which bin and find out more about the household waste collection on the Cheshire East website.

Knutsford also has a Household Waste Recycling centre on Mobberley Road; here you can recycle a wide range of items from old televisions, fridges and even cooking oil. It can also be used to dispose of additional household recycling such as cardboard – great when you’ve just moved in!

Knutsford Cemetery

Knutsford Cemetery is a five acre site on Tabley Hill Lane. Whilst it is owned by the Town Council it is operated by Cheshire East Council who manage the bereavement services. The cemetery opened in 1902 and features a beautiful and unusual octagonal chapel.

Public Transport

Knutsford Railway Station has hourly services to both Manchester and Chester on the Mid-Cheshire Line. You can see the timetable on the Mid-Cheshire Rail website www.midcheshirerail.org.uk.

There are three bus services in Knutsford operating Monday to Saturday taking you to Macclesfield, Northwich, Altrincham, Macclesfield Hospital,  Wilmslow and Hale. There is also a town circular serving the town centre, Longridge, Northwich Road, Bexton Road, and Mobberley Road. Knutsford Bus Station is located on Bexton Road, adjacent to Booths.

Knutsford Schools

There are 5 primary schools in Knutsford; St Vincent’s Catholic , Bexton , Egerton , Manor Park and Yorston Lodge (private school). The Knutsford Academy serves pupils 11-18 and comprises the lower school, upper school and studio school.

Knutsford Churches

Knutsford has four churches; St John’s (Toft Road), St Cross (Mobberley Road), St Vincent’s Catholic (Tatton Street) and Knutsford Methodist Church (Princess Street).

Sports & Leisure Facilities

Knutsford Leisure Centre on Westfield Drive is operated by the Everybody Trust and hosts the Knutsford swimming pool as well as badminton and squash courts, indoor football and a fitness suite. Knutsford also has a number of private gyms such as Knutsford Gym on Malt Street and Nxtep Fitness on King Street.

Knutsford Sports Club on Mereheath Lane includes an indoor archery range, cricket pitch, squash courts and tennis courts. Knutsford has a number of Bowls Clubs, a golf club and Football, Rugby and Cricket Clubs!

Cheshire East Council

Cheshire East Council is the unitary authority for Knutsford and responsible for an array of public services from operating the library, streetscape, public transport and social services. CEC is your main point of contact for issues relating to council tax, social care and highways.
