Finance and General Purposes Committee

The Committee shall consider financial and other general issues relating to the efficient operation of the Council as referred to it by the Council. In addition the Committee has a responsibility to monitor the financial well-being of the Council and will appoint an internal audit working group from within which will report back its findings on a monthly basis. 

The Committee may decide on behalf of the Council all matters relating to grant applications provided it does not exceed its approved budget for that purpose.

The Committee will consider any matter relating to the Council’s estates or interests in land.

The Committee shall, at its December meeting annually, agree a recommended budget and precept requirement for the forthcoming financial year, which will be presented with a recommendation for approval to the Council.

A report of the committees work will be made to the next meeting of the Town Council
