Environment Committee
The next meeting of the Environment Committee will be on 16 January (AGENDA)
The Committee shall consider and may decide matters relating to
- Grounds Maintenance (Wallwood and River Lilly)
- Christmas
- Townscape/ Streetscene (Street furniture, pathways, highways, parking, litter and graffiti)
- Communication with residents (Newsletter, Website and Town Guide)
- Social issues (Manchester Airport, Healthcare, Schools, Social behaviour and Quality of Life)
- and may authorise expenditure on behalf of the Council from the appropriate budget heads provided these budgets are not exceeded.
- The Committee are directed to appoint a ‘Christmas Sub Committee’ who will coordinate plans for the Town Centre Christmas celebrations
The Committee shall also consider the budget provision relating to the following budget heads which will be presented for consideration by the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
- Grounds Maintenance
- Streetscene
- Christmas Lights
The Committee shall provide a summary report of each meeting to the Council at the next practicable meeting of the Council. The report will distinguish those matters decided by the committee under delegated powers from matters which form the subject of a recommendation to the Council.
